The Boulder County Arts Alliance provides information and resources for and about the artists and cultural organizations in the area. Held monthly, Business of Arts workshops for artists include topics like insurance concerns, grant writing and audience development. Founded in 1989, the Center of the American West “brings together, for meaningful conversation and interaction, people as diverse as the American West itself.” The center hosts 30 to 40 public events per year, including conferences and lectures by great western thinkers. CONFERENCE ON WORLD AFFAIRS, annually in April Each year in April, more than 100 speakers representing a wide range of backgrounds gather in Boulder for “a week-long extravaganza of discussion and debate.” The Conference on World Affairs features more than 200 panels, plenaries and performances, with “whole new ways of looking at old questions.” All events are free and open to the public at CU from April 5-9.
