Health Events in Boulder County, Colorado Every Wednesday night, the Boulder Shambhala Center offers “Just Sit,” a free meditation practice with half-hour sitting meditation sessions and walking meditations in between. Held in the main shrine room on the top floor of the center, at 1345 Spruce St., 7-10pm. Free open house orientations are held in the parlor every Sunday, 10:30am-noon, with an introduction to the center, meditation instruction, discussion and a social. 303-444-0190. GRILLO HEALTH INFORMATION CENTER This community center offers free, confidential information from trained volunteers. Software and other resources are available for learning about traditional and alternative treatments, support groups and current health research. The center is open weekdays from 11am-5pm at Boulder Public Library, 1001 Arapahoe Ave. 303-441-4144. Health Classes & Lectures Boulder Community Hospital and Longmont United Hospital offer health and wellness classes, lectures, workshops, and support groups, many of them free. In Lafayette, the Recreation Department hosts a wide variety of free, health-related workshops on Wednesday evenings, 6-7pm at Bob L. Burger Recreation Center, 111 W. Baseline Road.
