COLORADO SHAKESPEARE GARDENS, annually in summer See the plants of Shakespeare’s England, much like the ones the Bard might have observed on walks about his native countryside. The Colorado Shakespeare Gardens showcase flowers, herbs and vegetables featured in the season’s Shakespeare plays, alongside quotation and identification signs. Informal tours take place at 6:45pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays before evening performances; self-guided tours are also available. Located just west of the outdoor Mary Rippon Theatre on the CU campus. 303-735-1010. Denver Botanic Gardens is the hub of garden activity in the metro area, offering acres of plant displays, classes, lectures, plant shows, gardening certification, botanical illustration instruction, storytimes, and much more. Whittier International School Garden Tour On June 5 from 11am-2pm, private gardens in the area of Whittier International School, 2008 Pine St., will open their gates for you to wander, gaze and get great ideas.
