COLORADO COWBOY POETRY GATHERING, annually in January Gather round and listen to the world’s best rhymers, yarn-spinners, sagebrush side-ticklers, yodelers and cowboy singers. MileHiCon, annually in fall The largest science-fiction literary convention in the region takes place annaully in the fall at the Hyatt Regency-Tech Center, 7800 E. Tufts Ave., Denver. The event features more than 80 authors and speakers in panels and programs on everything related to science fiction, fantasy and horror. Includes an art show, anime, gaming, and guests of honor. ONE BOOK, ONE BOULDER COUNTY, May 1 Boulder County libraries, Boulder Valley Schools and the University of Colorado are all sponsors of the “One Book, One Boulder County” project, a reading and discussion program that encourages residents to read the same book at the same time to create a countywide book club. The 2009 program culminates with a presentation by Katherine Paterson, author of the popular book Bridge to Terabithia. The event is May 1, 7pm at Macky Auditorium on the CU campus.
