The Mission of Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) is twofold: to provide support, advocacy and education to those in our community who are infected with or affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and to serve as an outreach and information center to prevent further transmission of HIV and the resulting Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). BCAP presents numerous lively and entertaining fundraising events throughout the year in support of their program. Boulder Shelter is tightening their belts this year and knows it's supporters are too. They will not host the Barely Black Tie gala in 2009, but are asking for help to maintain essential Shelter services for the growing number of people in need in our community during this unprecedented time. They are presenting "Stayin' Home for the Homeless," and other community outreach programs. Buy yourself a "ticket," sit back and relax at home. Make a night of it, knowing your generous support will truly save and change lives - and go even further at the time when it is needed most. $50 per 'ticket.' "Because thrifty is the new black... tie." 303-468-4313.
The Emergency Family Assistance Association celebrated 91 years of service to the community with the “There’s No Place Like Home” gala in October. "Golf for a Great Cause" has been postponed until spring 2010. Call or check website for other events and to sign up for their newsletter. 303-442-3042.
