Skateboarding & In-Line Skating in Boulder County, ColoradoAlthough in-line skating and skateboarding are not allowed in certain commercial areas (including Pearl Street Mall and the Hill), they are permitted on the Boulder Creek Path and other multiuse trails. If you want to practice tricks, don protective gear and visit one of the skate parks listed below. Contact the City of Boulder Transportation Department/GO Boulder office (303-441-3266). APOCALYPSE SKATE PARK This free skate park features a 12-foot half-pipe, a fun box, two large quarter-pipes, a pyramid, assorted rails, a 6-foot spine ramp and several other features. All ages welcome, but children under 12 must have parental supervision. BOULDER SKATE PARK This free, 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art concrete in-ground skate park is arranged to accommodate unlimited rides. Features a street course with rails, curbs, free-flowing forms and bowls, and viewing benches. Offers skills clinics, competitions and a skate team. LONGMONT SKATE PARK This free skate park features two fun boxes, three pyramids, a pair of 5-foot quarter-pipes and a 10-foot rail. Call about classes and skate clinics. ST. VRAIN MEMORIAL BUILDING After the indoor skating rink in Longmont closed, the city decided to open up the gymnasium at the Memorial Building to skaters. Bring your own skates or rollerblades and have fun in this indoor, air-conditioned gym. It’s open Fri from 8 am-7 pm and Sat from 8 am-5 pm. There are also a concession stand and video arcade on the premises.
