About the Boulder County REAL Awards
Since 1978, Boulder Magazine has been dedicated to covering, preserving and encouraging everything LOCAL in Boulder County. With the 2nd annual Boulder County REAL Awards, we honor local individuals and businesses that really make a difference in our community, recognize local standouts for their contributions to our local community and culture, and who help make Boulder County so unique and vibrant.
Boulder County REAL Awards candidates will be suggested by members of the community who go to getboulder.com/REAL/nominate and place names in nomination. (nomination period for the 2012 REAL Awards is now closed). REAL Award finalists and winners will be selected, based on the description of the nominee and additional comments provided, by an esteemed panel of local judges.
The Boulder County REAL Awards will be presented in 10 categories: Agriculture/Horticulture, Small Business (fewer than 25 employees), Large Business (more than 25 employees), Environmental Heroes, Outstanding Community Service, Most Inspiring Individual, Non-Profit (health & human services), Non-profit (community-at-large), Culture/Performing Arts, and Restaurateur.
With the REAL Awards we salute the outstanding character of those who help make Boulder County such a special place, and pay tribute to their significant contributions made to our community.
The 2012 Boulder County REAL Awards will be presented in a gala community celebration event
starting at 6:30 p.m. on April 19, 2012 at the Historic Hotel Boulderado.
