Joffrey: Mavericks of American Dance (documentary)
The film documents how the Joffrey Ballet revolutionized American ballet by daringly combining Modern Dance with traditional ballet technique, combining art with social statement and settting ballets to pop and rock music scores. The film features rare exerpts from many seminal Joffrey works, including Astarte, Trinity and Billboards. Screening includes a live, interactive panel Q & Q with talent from Joffrey. (Bob Hercules, 2011, USA, 90 min, not rated)
Tickets available on-line at www.thedairy.org and day of screening at The Dairy Main Box Office and the Boedecker Theater Box Office. One screening only, on-line ticketing recommended.
