Fishing in Boulder County

With 6,000 miles of streams and more than 2,000 lakes and reservoirs to fish, Colorado is angling country. There are many excellent locations, including lakes in eastern Boulder County and Rocky Mountain National Park. For the youngsters, head to the children’s fishing pond near the Boulder Justice Center.

A catch-and-release policy is in effect for Rocky Mountain National Park and most of Boulder Creek, which offers a perfect spot to relax and fish without even leaving the city. Information, licenses and the Colorado Fishing Season Information and Wildlife Property brochure are available at most sporting goods stores and through the Colorado Division of Wildlife (303-297-1192, www.wildlife.state.co.us). Or call 303-291-7534 for recorded information on fishing conditions.
